The damage is pretty amazing. The end abutment with all the damage had been protected by a rock blanket. The rock blanket consisted of several dump truck loads of boulders, 2 to 3 foot in diameter. I've got another picture that shows all these boulders more than 100 yards down stream.

Dad mentions almost everyday how thankful he is that we got our amount of rain (5.5") instead of the amounts that fell just 10 miles north as well as to the west of us. Those have been terrible for several people in the ward.
