Kylie's Blessing Day

We were very excited to get to bless Kylie while Mom and Dad were here to be apart of the blessing. It was a special day. Robbie did a great job with the blessing and it was so great to have so many friends and family here supporting us. Kylie looked beautiful in her dress and was a great baby during the blessing. We had the blessing Sunday evening at our house.

Kylie's arrival Home

The hospitals out here all have new policies that during the flu season will not allow kids into the hospital. So here is some pictures of the kids getting to see their new sister for the first time. Grandma's first time as well. Cade was so excited. Shayla was a little unsure.

Pumpkin Patch

This was Shayla's field trip to the pumpkin patch that she got to go on with her preschool. I have to show you the picture of the two little girls that she is friends with in the neighborhood because she is so much taller than both of them. It is so funny to me that she is so tall since I am so not. We had a fun time. It started out a little rainy, but the sun came out and it ended up being super nice.

The Zoo

Robbie and I tried to take full advantage of our last few weeks with only two kids. We have become extremely spoiled with not having to deal with diapers, strollers, and all other things baby. We took the kids to the zoo on Columbus Day which Robbie had off from the city. The weather was perfect. Since the weather was so nice all the animals were out. This was probably the best time at the zoo with getting to see the animals. We had a great day.

Pumpkin Patch

This is the skirt that I made for Shayla. She is doing a pose for you. It is crazy how grown up she is .
We went to a corn maze at Thanksgiving Point called Cornbellys. It was so much fun. Although it was a little cold. We went with our friends the Clowards. The kids loved the spook alley, corn maze, pig races, and everything else.

Lucky Day in DC

The DC Marine Corp Marathon sold out in 2 days in April. So how did I run it ???? Crazy!!! I was in the airport on Thursday when I realized it was the weekend of the marathon. So I took Tanner to the expo on Friday while Dave was in class just to shop. When lo and behold I overheard a man in a business suit say his secretary was injured and he had her number. He gave it to me (worth $100), I got it changed over in my name and ran the 5th largest races in the country just 8 days after I ran KC. You only live once, though. It was crazy fun.

We had so much fun on our trip. When Dave gets home (he has the camera still) I'll be able to post more pictures. That was the funnest vacation I've ever had, even without the marathon. It was so fun to be with Dave & Tanner and do so many fun things with no stress. Our hotel was right next to everything we needed and the extra money from Dave's travel account covered all of our food and more. Plus, the Hilton gave Dave access to the "exec lounge" which always had food and drinks, so we had a little free buffet at the hotel for snacks and drinks.
I put a bunch of pics on my blog and I'm sure Dave will want to post more.

My Marathon & Donna's soon "marathon"

I think 2 of us are experiencing "marathons" in october. Honestly, I'd rather run 500 miles than give birth, so GOOD LUCK TOMORROW DONNA!!
Yesterday I ran the KC marathon with my sister, Heidi, who ran the half. Heidi is a new runner. She started running just 6 months ago. She was very very nervous but did great and finished strong. I had such a bad run in Provo in june that I just took it easy until about mile 16 when I knew my hip wouldn't bug me. So then I ran hard the last 10. I ended up finishing as the 6th female overall, just missing 5th place by 2 seconds. However, I never saw that girl because it was all based on "chip time" and I started way back in the pack with Heidi. Anyway, it was fun.

Soccer

Here is Cade playing soccer. He was way more into this year. He started out not to interested, but as the season went on decided soccer was cool. He played almost the whole season with his broken arm. In the beginning he mostly just played goalie, but when he got his new cast the dr said it was okay to play. He even made his first goal this year. It was great. He also decided that he did not like having to take turns sitting out this year.

First Day of Kindergarten

Here is Cade's first day of Kindergarten photo. He was a bit nervous, but is now doing great. He is such a good kid. Shayla wanted to get in on the photos as well. I can not believe how big my kids are getting.
