Enjoying the Fall

Last night we went on a bike ride to "Sydney's house" as Tanner kept saying. When we got to Sydney Pyrah's house Tanner & Dave played soccer with her. Although Sydney is 7, she really loves playing with Tanner. Tanner does a good job of riding his bike all the way there and usually a good job of riding home (the whole trip is about 1/2 mile).
Last weekend we went to the Farm Fest and we have a dozen pics of Tanner on the tractors etc.....
The weather has been awesome. The highs have been in the upper 70's. I'm enjoying the fall while it lasts!

Fall in Utah

I have posted a few pictures. Some are of Kent and Mary, but most are of my family. We went down to Nephi canyon a few weeks ago and got some pictures of all the beautiful fall colors. This last weekend we went down by Capital Reef again. To a town called Torrey, UT. Robbie went duck hunting with his dad and Billy. This was the first hunt that Robbie actually had Cade go with him for a little bit. Robbie got up really early to go hunting and then later I took Cade down to meet up with his Dad. Cade thought it was the best, but his hands did get cold. I took Shayla down later to meet up with them. Cade was so proud. He had gotten to see his dad shoot the biggest duck. We had a great weekend. I would still say that this part of Utah is one of the prettiest places in the whole US. I just love it especially when the sun is shining.

Pumpkin Carving FHE

On Monday, we had a combined FHE. We carved pumpkins and celebrated Gary & Dave's birthdays. Tanner wasn't too excited about posing for pictures and was out by the old barn, until Granddad yelled, "Tanner, do you want some ice cream?" We heard a high-pitched squeal and then Tanner came running! We made him pose for a couple of pictures before we broke out the dessert. Thanks Yvonne for planning this fun activity!

I proposed last night at a park in alpine.  It is close to the mount timp. temple.  I planned on doing it there a week and then Mary found out so I told her that i was not going to do it there. I ended up doing it there anyway and she was completely suprised.  I took her down this rocky stair path and then around this huge duck pond.  There was this path that led into this little meadow.  I had my roommate set up a blanket with flowers and food and underneath the blanket was the ring.  I led her to the rose pedal path and she was in shock.  I got down on one knee and proposed and it was really good.  We are now officialy engaged.  Here are some pictures of last night.

Bread Making 101

Ever since Ron went to visit Mom two summers ago-he has been asking me to make some of that good bread we all know mom makes!! Much to his dismay-I have procrastinated the learning of it all!! But I had my first alone attempt today and it was great fun! I'm sooo excited about this bread and how it turned out that I made a surprise visit to Ron's work to take the hot bread to him myself!! One bite in and he was hooked!!! Butter - honey and hot! Yum!

I am trying to create a web album so you can all view my photos. These photos are of our Labor day weekend trip to Fillmore, UT. We had such a great time. We got to golf, ride 4-wheelers, and relax. Robbie also took Cade dove hunting on Monday. Fillmore is a really cute small town. They really cater to ATV riders. You can ride your 4-wheeler anywhere throughout town. Cade thought that is was so cool that we could ride the 4-wheeler to the grocery store. There is also tons of mountain trails that you can ride straight from town out to.

The other pictures are of Cade's first day of preschool for the year. Most of you will probably recognize Cade's buddy Luke in those pictures. I hope this link will work. If not I will try again.

Columbia Marathon

We had so much fun in Columbia this weekend with Todd & Nora!! I ran the "Heart of America Marathon" on Labor Day and finished as the 2nd female. It's a really small marathon, only about 130 people, no awards or anything. But I felt great and it was a nice race. We ran on gravel roads and the Missouri Katy Trail and some hills that were so steep everyone walked up them (I've never seen that before). It was 73 degrees at the 6:00 am start. A very beautiful race that took us by the river bluffs.
The best part of the weekend was seeing Tanner & Nora play together. They played like best friends for 2 days straight! No disputes over toys or anything! It was unbelieveable. Nora shares her toys VERY well and Todd was a great host. He's got quite the pad - it was like heaven for Tanner because mom wasn't trying to keep it picked up :-). I just wish they lived closer because Tanner adors "Nowa".
