Pre-K Graduation

Tuesday was graduation but yesterday was the last day. I ran in the neighborhood by the school while he was in school (usual routine) for the last time! It was a little emotional driving away from Stone Canyon Elementary. We've had such a great year and we're so lucky Oklahoma has such a great program. Tanner's teachers made each child a 3 ring binder with school work from the whole year. It's so fun to see how he's changed in one year!! Next year he'll be in all day kindergarten at Smith Elementary so we will really miss our drive to and from Stone Canyon each day.
We're so proud. Tanner was one of the youngest in his class but did wonderfully. Nice Jarvis genes :-) Loves his numbers! And very social!!

My 35th B-day

This picture is a few weeks old.......now Dave added more tomato plants & zucchini
Me on my 35th!
Tanner woke up yesterday and made me this card all by himself back in his room. He wrote "mom" and taped some of his money to it. I guess he knows what I like???
Dave & Tanner surprised me with this cake from the store! They also bought me fresh seafood..........salmon, tuna, and tilapia. Dave cooked some last night. Yum!
Yesterday was a perfect day! For my b-day we went to a festival in Tulsa last night. There was a 5K race at 8pm called the "Full Moon Run" which I ran. Lots of activities for kids and inflatables and games for Tanner. Then a concert in the park after. We stayed for the concert until 10:00. The band was playing "Journey" songs and Tanner was dancing all over the grass. Really fun day! 5K was easy. 6 months pregnant and feeling great. I remember my 30th birthday being 7 weeks away from having Tanner. Fun!

Disney World & Sea World - Orlando

Tanner swimming with Dad at one of the resort pools. Tanner didn't even need Disney or Sea World.......he's in paradise swimming with Dad. They swam almost every night.
Family at Magic Kingdom. Tanner was happy, but pulling "pirate" faces :-)
Tanner & I spent 2 days at Sea World while Dave was in his conference. I actually liked Sea World better than Disney.........the whale/dolphin shows gave me goosebumps and it wasn't busy season so it was nice & quiet.

My two loves :-).
5 years from now I can take our daughter to all the Snow White/Cinderella things. But Pirates and Buzz Lightyear were fun, too :-)

beware of pirate!

Part of this pirates costume (earring, sword, eyepatch) came from Disney World in Orlando. Some of it you might recognize from Kent's Halloween costume when he was maybe this age.

iris 2009

I was looking through pictures for the family video & came across this one instead. Can you see why I don't just mow these down? Instead I keep pulling the grass & weeds each year so I can enjoy a brief display of beauty! It should look like this again in 2-3 weeks.

spring--almost

Two more days until the official start of spring. The early flowers have begun, and the grass is beginning to turn green. And of course, the birthday girl, adding more color to the landscape!

Snowed In!!

Tanner in the driveway......This was before the snow had stopped. Much deeper now.
View out our front door
View out the back door
front door............guess no one is visiting us for a while!!

No school or work for a few days!! Tulsa got a lot of snow but luckily we have power, cable, internet, and food so we're pretty happy :-)

On a serious note, Tanner "tried" playing in the snow yesterday but came in the house screaming and crying because his hands were so cold. Then he would try and go out again, but come in screaming and crying again. For a moment when I couldn't get him to stop screaming I thought of those pioneers and how did they comfort children with no hope of getting warm? It was one of those moments when I realized how weak I am .....they had to watch their children freeze..................it was a moment for me.

The Donut Chef

They got to hold dough balls and see the machine
After the tour eating donuts they frosted themselves
Emma, Broc, & Tanner putting sprinkles on their donuts
What a fun way to enjoy the school break!

We have a library book about a Donut Chef. I was reading it last week and Tanner asked "Mom, what's a glazed donut?". I realized we never buy donuts or go to donut shops so I arranged a tour of the local Krispy Kreme with some of Tanner's friends. They got to make their own donuts. It was so fun!
