Tanner in the driveway......This was before the snow had stopped. Much deeper now.

front door............guess no one is visiting us for a while!!
No school or work for a few days!! Tulsa got a lot of snow but luckily we have power, cable, internet, and food so we're pretty happy :-)
On a serious note, Tanner "tried" playing in the snow yesterday but came in the house screaming and crying because his hands were so cold. Then he would try and go out again, but come in screaming and crying again. For a moment when I couldn't get him to stop screaming I thought of those pioneers and how did they comfort children with no hope of getting warm? It was one of those moments when I realized how weak I am .....they had to watch their children freeze..................it was a moment for me.

When I was out shoveling snow yesterday and tramping from the front of the house to the back and sinking down--with my boots, coat, and gloves on--and being well fed--I also was thinking of the Willie-Martin handcart pioneers. Starving, with ragged clothes, etc, and in the elements 24-7! We can't even imagine it.
I agree! Interesting how you get those moments of perspective.
Thanks for the pictures and for the perspective...especially as I enjoy 70degree temperatures!
