Trip to Scott and Merrilee's old stomping grounds!
Ron had the weekend off (his first in over a month) so after dropping the kids off Friday night we went to eat at Bass Pro Shops (Ron's favorite!) and then to see the movie "27 Dresses". The next morning we were going to go out on the lake but I had a really bad cold so we decided to take a drive to Kearny, AZ to get a hamburger at Buzzy's and to see the open pit mine that Scott used to work at. We had a nice drive and a nice visit with Cameron who came along. We played Truth or Dare on the way there but since you can't really dare much in a car-we got a lot of truth out of Cameron. That made it fun!! He is a good boy and we are now just waiting for his mission call. It could be here by the first of next week-so we have a big map up and everyone is getting to put there guesses up of where he is going. We also drove by your old rental houses (Scott and Merrilee's) but they have changed so much I had to drive by them twice to remember which one's they were. That night Cameron had some friends over and I made tacos for everyone and we watched the "Lonesome Dove" movies!!
Too fun, Jana! I loved the pictures from the mine lookout. I hope that you enjoyed Buzzy's. I'm jealous that you got to hang out in Kearny for a bit. :)
Hey those pictures look awfully familiar! I think we have several with our kids on the shovel and big tire too. We went to Kearny on Sunday and I wondered if you had gone or not. Glad you had a good time. It's a beautiful drive that's for sure.
We drove around all over in the mine, one time, with Scott as our guide, when they were still living in Kearney. They did love the people there, but I doubt they miss very much the mine or the area. I might be wrong, that's just a guess!
