Broken Wrist

Our very first day of summer vacation within the first 5 minutes, Cade broke his wrist. I had the kids come outside with me to mow the front lawn and Cade was over playing on these electrical boxes right by the driveway. I did not even have time to start the lawn mower when I heard him screaming. I took him to the doctor and he sent us to get it x-rayed. The said it was a buckle fracture in the wrist. He will be in a cast for three weeks. Our very first broken bone.

iris in front-downed tree in back

When I was outside a couple of hours after the storm taking pictures of the runaway trampoline, downed funhouse, tree, limbs, etc, I decided that I had to get a shot of the iris. When Donna was here, I was telling her I was going to mow them down since they had gotten so damaged during the freeze two years ago and hadn't been pretty since. Luckily I had a change of heart, pulled weeds and Todd mulched for me in March. More of them have opened up since the picture from the other day. If you look carefully in the background, you can see the blown down tree on the basketball blacktop between the barn and the old brown shed.

trampoline after the storm

I wanted to show you where and in what condition the trampoline ended up. You can just see the spot of blue down by the pond.

Jacob Wrestling

Cade also wanted me to upload this clip of Jacob wrestling with some kids at this really fun place Jana took us too. It was called something Island, but had all these really cool treehouses for the kids to play in. They played extremely hard and had a blast.

Cade's Show

At the tulip festival, there is this outdoor ampitheater. My kids both immediately ran down to the stage and put on a show. Here is a a clip of Cade.

Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival

We took Mom and Dad to Thanksgiving Point to the tulip festival. I had never been. The tulips were in 90% in bloom. It was really beautiful. It ended up being a lot of walking so I really wore everyone out. I decided that it was a great activity for my kids.
